Why We Live in Southern California

These pictures, of Pelican Hill Golf Course on the bluffs above Corona Del Mar, says it all. The sea, the vistas, the warm summer air. True, this is about as good as it gets around here, and only the very wealthy actually get to live close to this scene. That's OK with me. I just like to drive there now and then. It's enough. I breath it in and let my soul soak up the beauty for all its worth.

A head start on summer

This past week it rained - again. I suppose we ought to cheer that given that much of the country is still mired in drought conditions. But honestly, I'm ready for summer. A couple weeks ago we decided to jump start the season with a trip to the beach, Corona Del Mar, our favorite. It was a bit chilly and overcast, but well worth the time. I'm always amazed at how easily kids can shrug off the cold and wet for a romp in the waves.
